Pep Guardiola has confirmed he will hold talks with Manchester City ‘s board over plans to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.

“We will have a conversation with the team about what is best for January. It will depend on the position and the situation we find ourselves in,” Guardiola said to โปรโมชั่น ufabet.

Poor results of recent times have shown that Man City need to add more players, especially as they struggle with fitness and injury issues.

City decided against making major reinforcements to their squad in the summer, bringing in winger Savinho and pouncing on an opportunity to re-sign Ilkay Gundogan in a quiet off-season. They opted against signing a back-up defensive midfielder, allowing Kalvin Phillips to leave on loan.

And the manager said that City will not rule out making transfers in January if it makes sense, despite their usual reluctance to deal in the winter window.

“We’ll talk internally what is the best in January,” he confirmed. “It depends on the position and the situation we are in at that moment.”

The holding midfield position has been a major problem for Man City since Rodri suffered a serious injury that kept him out for a long time, leading to links with the likes of Martin Zubimendi.
